NBA hiring Media Distribution Management – BAL
This multi-faceted role will report directly to the Head of Business Development and Partnership BAL and will be a key contributor to maximizing media rights revenue and distribution opportunities for BAL. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in broadcast media rights sales or acquisitions support, broadcast marketing, b2b account and project facilitation and will be a digital native.
Major Responsibility:
Business Development
- Responsible for generating leads and meeting sales goals
- Support by gathering business intelligence and conducting media rights market analysis
- Manage internal management reporting on the regional media rights sales pipeline
- Manage and support contracting and on-boarding processes for new partnerships, renewals and upsells
- Create and deliver consultative sales presentations using industry knowledge, market trends, and BAL marketing solutions
Partner Management and business operations support
- Partner Content and Programming facilitation
- Partner marketing and promotions management
- Partner invoicing tracking and facilitation
- Innovate and enhance the development of media rights partnership value around BAL tentpoles key initiatives (e.g., BAL Saturdays and BAL Sundays)
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong relationships across the broadcast media and Telco landscape (Pay TV, FTA & Streaming Services)
- Experience in negotiating Media Distribution deals across the African continent
- Strong consultative analytical skills
- Thorough understanding of the wider broadcast and digital media rights landscape
- Fluency in English is required, fluency in French is a preference
- Creative ideation and problem-solving skills
- Must be detail-oriented and organized
- Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple ongoing projects
- Demonstrated computer proficiency (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills utilized to liaise cross-functionally and build relationships
- Ability to work well within a team environment
Experience Needed
- Minimum of 5 years of broadcast media sales & marketing
- Digital and traditional broadcast media rights experience, strongly preferred
- A track record of managing accounts and selling broadcast media rights
- A successful track record of developing, enhancing, and maintaining strong working relationships with both internal and external clients
Educational Background Required
- Bachelor’s degree required
