DP World is hiring an Occupational Health Manager.

Job Description

As an Occupational Health Manager, you will join the HR department to take in charge a full section composed of occupational supervisors, Occupational Health Nurses, Medical Assistants. You will be managing employee’s health, Prevention of risks related to physical professional activities, Chemical Risks and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment). You will monitor an average of 600 staffs and will examine the workplace to determine environmental and/or physical factors that could affect employee health, safety, comfort, and performance. You will also manage and control finances, administration, and activities of the company clinic and be part of the Core management meetings to expose any aspects related to it.

For that, your main tasks will be as following:

  • Take and monitor staff’s medical history
  • Ensure the follow-up and the regulatory medical visits in occupational health of the employees (hiring, periodic, pre-recovery, resumption following absences or long sick or long-term leaves)
  • Determining fitness for the workstation
  • Identify and analyse occupational risks
  • Give a medical opinion on occupational risks
  • Participate in institutional procedures for maintaining employment
  • Propose, design, and implement actions to prevent occupational risks (work fatigue, mental health, stress etc.) related to the workstation and its environment
  • Perform and order clinical examinations
  • Interpret test results / Administer care
  • Make a diagnosis of the patient’s health status
  • Prescribe a treatment program to cure and/or rehabilitate
  • Inform the patient of all aspects of their condition and therapy
  • Monitor the progress of the therapeutic program
  • Provide psychological and social support to the patient and family
  • Promote health education and a healthy lifestyle
  • Perform primary and secondary prevention activities
  • Perform administrative functions related to patient care
  • Participate in working groups, meetings, and visits of Health insurance provider, in the animation of institutional campaigns (example: covid, flu vaccination campaign).
  • Advising employers, employees, and staff representatives on occupational health issues.
  • Advise management on the cost and effectiveness of safety and health programs
  • Provide stress counselling service to the staff when needed
  • Enhance DP World’s resiliency through the establishment of a customized crisis cell in case of need
  • Manage Health and occupational budget throughout the year
  • Manage the clinic staff
  • Identify and develop the needs of the section in training and development;
  • Lead the inventory of the pharmacy for the purpose of helping or solving potential problem;
  • Automation and digitalization experience

HSE

  • Have compliance with HSSE operational procedures and instructions in your department drafted, approved, and monitored.
  • Pilot or participate in reporting and analysis of incidents if necessary

Diploma

  • State Diploma in Medicine + mention in occupational health

Competencies

  • Experience of at least 10 years serving as a doctor including 3 years as company doctor
  • In-depth knowledge in the medical and health field
  • Ability to make a diagnosis
  • Ability to read the results of medical examinations and tests
  • Ability to make decisions and take responsibility
  • Communication and listening skills
  • Ability to manage the doctor-patient relationship
  • Resistance to stress and fatigue
  • Reliability, accuracy, and patience
  • Willingness to continually update information
