Join Haskè Health+ (HH+), a venture studio in the health sector in Francophone Africa, based in Dakar, Senegal. In partnership with other actors in the health sector, HH+ is running an AI triage project. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Project Lead to pilot and run the project in Dakar, Senegal. As the Project Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading the venture creation process. Your role demands good leadership abilities, a knowledge of public health and health systems enhancement in LMICs, and an enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and venture-building. You will assume primary responsibility for the AI triage project of its successful implementation and advancement. You will supervise the operational launch of the project, overseeing accounting, financial management, technical aspects, and other operational needs across commercial, technical, administrative, human resources, and strategic domains. You will achieve a meaningful impact by deploying AI technologies to enhance public health systems and promote sustainable healthcare solutions.

Objectives and responsibilities of this role

  • Lead the development and implementation of an AI-supported patient triage system, ensuring alignment with HH+’s strategic objectives and milestones.
  • Develop a risk, socio-economic benefits & impact analysis.
  • Build and manage a diverse team of data scientists, software engineers, public health experts, and other professionals, fostering collaboration and synergy to achieve project goals.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the project and provide executive direction of all program strategy, marketing and sales, management of value chain, supply chain, compliance, quality assurance, and efficiency – track progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise in health systems strengthening, AI, machine learning, and healthcare technology to steer the development of the patient triage system.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with healthcare providers, government entities, NGOs, investors, and other stakeholders to garner support and ensure project success and sustainability – outlining investment paths to product market fit – reports and updates of the project.
  • Analyze healthcare data, develop predictive models, and refine algorithms for improved patient triage and risk assessment.
  • Refine and optimize the triage system usability, effectiveness, and safety using feedback from healthcare providers and end-users.
  • Ensure the patient triage system complies with all relevant regulatory requirements, privacy regulations, and ethical considerations, working closely with legal and regulatory experts.
  • Provide regular progress reports and meticulous documentation of project activities, including design specifications, technical documents, user manuals, and regulatory filings.
  • Represent the project and increase awareness by being the primary spokesperson and liaison with local partners.

Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., health-related discipline, computer science, public health, business administration). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in project management, strategy development, business planning and projections, preferably in the healthcare or technology sector.
  • Experience in a high-pressure start-up environment with exposure to multidisciplinary teams and/or involvement with a tech project in the health sector.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and healthcare accreditation standards. Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and data analytics technologies.
  • Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, remote patient monitoring technologies, and virtual care delivery models.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to inspire confidence and create trust.
  • Bilingual (English & French) with excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills.
