Creative Design Assistant

Walk of Same is a premium jewelry brand that (primarily) caters to women of color, providing them with luxury personal ornaments or “everyday armor” that accentuate their personal power as they excel at life on their own terms.

We are looking for a Creative Design Assistant to support our Founder and Chief Creative Officer. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the research and development of jewelry brand designs by supporting with creative strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

• Provide extensive research on luxury brands within key markets
• Assist CCO with design sketches, product suggestions and materials
• Source for manufacturers in different regions and determine best options
• Work closely with design team on concepts, material sourcing and team presentations
• Take notes during weekly team calls and share action items with the team

Qualifications

• Previous internships /experience working in jewelry design within fine jewelry
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign, Microsoft Office required
• Working knowledge or major interest in fashion jewelry construction and materials
• Understanding of jewelry manufacturing and material or a big interest in learning
• Strong organization and communication skills
• Strong awareness of European and American fashion trends
• Motivated team player willing to learn and work
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
• Good follow through and sense of urgency
• Professional writing and communication skills
• Jewelry design degree a plus
